Ash Mukundan

Volunteer

(they/them)

Ash is an undergraduate student at UBC, majoring in Psychology with a minor in Creative Writing. With a strong commitment toward promoting inclusivity, Ash’s academic and professional interests focus on fostering compassion and enhancing understanding of the nuanced experiences of marginalized groups regarding sexuality. Ash plans to pursue graduate studies in Counselling Psychology, eventually hoping to specialize in supporting queer, neurodivergent and POC clients through a trauma-informed and sex-positive lens. They aim to destigmatize conversations surrounding sex and pleasure in society, by encouraging candor and devaluating the role shame typically plays when discussing sexuality.

Ash presently volunteers for the eSense nonbinary and eSense cancer studies, eager to develop their research skills and knowledge during their time with the lab. In their free time, Ash enjoys creative hobbies such as illustration, poetry, and photography, as well as social activities like playing video games and rollerblading with friends
