Evaluation of Barriers Healthcare Providers Face in Managing Sexual Dysfunction and Genito-Pelvic Pain

Research purpose:

Sexuality is undeniably a fundamental component of quality of life and is associated with both physical and psychological well-being. Yet sexual dysfunction and genito-pelvic pain (SD/GPP) are common issues that affect many peoples’ experiences and well-being.

This study aims to identify barriers faced by healthcare providers in assessing and managing female SD/GPP.

Research procedure:

If you choose to participate in this research study, you will:

1) Complete a 10-15 minute survey

2) Have the option to sign up for a focus group to further discuss barriers identified.

3) Every participant of the survey will be entered into a lottery, with a 1 in 10 chance of winning $500 CAD. Completion of the survey is not required to be eligible for the lottery.

Who can participate?

Primary care practitioners, obstetricians, gynaecologists, psychiatrists, urologists, nurses, nurse practitioners, midwives, physiotherapists, psychologists.

When does this study take place?

Recruitment is currently ongoing and will close in March 2026.
